can i give my dog mineral oil?

i think my dog ate a pine cone and looks a bit uncomfortable since last night. doesn't want to eat anything. I wonder if i give him mineral oil if it will help him pass whatever it was that he ate.

If your dog actually ate a pine cone - he needs a vet. Do not give him anything, especially mineral oil. I'm sure his stomach cannot digest a pine cone and the sharp ends on them could puncture his stomach or intestine. Get him to the vet to find out how far down his digestive tract this thing has gone and hope it's not too late.

i wouldnt do that. just let mother nature take its course. if that doesnt work then i would talk to your local veterinairan.

No!!!! Mineral oil will not help and will more likely cause more problems. Pine cones are extremely dangerous and can cause intestinal obstructions and perforations. If your dog is showing discomfort today - get to a vet NOW. This really is an emergency.
