Anybody know how to tell when a dog is about to give birth?
About 2 weeks ago a jack russell showed up at my house, I have posted signss, adds and asked around the neighborhood about her and it appears someone has dropped her off. It is obvious she is pregnant, and after taking her to our vet we also found out she has heart-worms. which we are going to treat her for after the pups are weaned. the vet assured us that the puppies can't get the heart-worms from mom. But today she seems to have a slimmy discharge, and I was wondering if this is an indication that she will be giving birth soon.
