Default My mom keeps buying dogs?

We have always had dogs. We all love animals. From what I can remember we have never had less than 4. We have six labs now, 3 yellow/3 black (here are their ages 4,4,3,3,2,6 months) and I think my mom is looking to get a 7th.
Our dogs are all VERY well taken care of, and she actually spoils them too much. We live on a large piece of property where they have more than enough room to run around and play and I alone spend about an hour playing with them a day (not to mention the amount of time my mom and sister spends with them).
But 7 dogs seems like too much! I thought 6 was too much! It's not that I'm worried about the welfare of the dog, it will have a wonderful long life here, but it just seems weird and I think there's something wrong with someone who has 7 dogs.
What do you guys think?
Both my parents are doctors so we have plenty of money.
Mom spends tons of time with them when she comes home, not to mention during the day I always play with them, then there's my sisters who loves them more then any1.
They are all very fit and get more than enough exercise, one of them is incredibly strong. Only one of the girls doesn't like to retrive (shes a diva and likes to sunbath) so we walk her for her exercise.
They get constant check-ups.
They are disciplined (they are obidient) and are not wild.
Basically this question was more about my mom than the dogs. I know they all are very well taken care of.
lol and "katz k".....I always compare her to the crazy cat lady from the simpsons who always throws her cats at people!

I feel that as long as their basic needs (veterinary care, excersise, proper food, and water, supplies, bedding...ect)....and their emoitional needs are met...love, understnadng, training, playtime..ect. 7 dogs are not weird..you might want check your town/citys dog laws though to be safe as well...most towns have a legal limit of dogs you can own before you become classified as a hoarded..i personally feel your mother is not to this status...but it depends on what town you are in. I also say if she woul like another...encourage her to adopt from a pound, or from craigslist, or a rescue...SO many dogs need homes from these places..and i have seen a TON of labs...good luck.

Instead of a crazy cat lady, she's a crazy dog lady :B. I kid, I kid.

Sounds like it would be well taken care of, but seven is really too much. Unless she plans to use them for sled racing.

Here's the problem. It does sound like they have a nice life, but they are all young dogs. What happens when they start encountering vet bills, which always increase as a dog ages? Very few people can afford vet care for this many dogs and they're all going to start aging in a couple years. All the spoiling in the world won't help them if they need a hip replacement and nobody can come up with $2000. Even a simple illness can rack up bills of $1000 or so. With this many dogs, she's guaranteed to run into this.

If she's got a lot of money and her dogs have always gotten consistent vet care when the dogs need it, then I guess I see no problem, but she needs to have about $10,000 socked away for unexpected vet care for this many dogs!
