Default Is the weather the reason my 3 month year old puppy doesn't want to run...

...around as much? He is a german shepherd male 3 month pup, and i cannot walk him until next Saturday. So i try to tire him out any way possible because obviously exercise is good and he is just nicer and more well behaved when he is tired then he will happily just "chill".
So what i do is get one of my old footballs that he demolished when i made the mistake of leaving it in the kitchen get him in the garden and boot the ball he chases the semi popped ball brings it back and bamn kick it again etc etc and just general games where i encourage him to run. He normally loves this game and looks at me like im pathetic when me a supposedly fit 18 year old is exhausted when he is just happily standing there wagging his tail waiting me to kick it again.
But today it is very hot and he is not as up for it and got tired way before normal, i brought his water bowl out and he was drinking alot and had hit dinner around 12.30 and i took him out at 1.30
So do you think it is the heat or a underlying problem with him, his is due at the vets tomorrow anyway for his final shots and general checkup.

yes the heat is defiantly a factor, try giving him crushed ice to chew inside and make a game out of it. He will love chasing the ice and then eating it. It is very important that he is drinking in the heat bc dogs get dehydrated fast running around in the heat! You can also feed him frozen carrots or green beans if he isn't drinking just to make sure he gets some kind of fluids in him.

Yes dogs can have heartstokes, just like us. and can go into heat exhaustion. dogs have very few sweat glands. you should keep him inside in blazing hot weather, if he is outside you can set up one of those mini kids pools, which my dog enjoys. limit excersise on hot dogs, keeping walks early morning or after sunset. Hope this helps.

yes it is probably because he dose not like the kind of weather you are having. I babysit many animals and lots of them don't like certain kinds of weather.
