Need advice regarding cats injury. (picture)?

I think that one of the neighbors cats was fighting with my cat. This happened in the past 24 hrs. What seems strange about the wound though is how it's completely bald and hardly bloody.

Please give me some advice if you've dealt with this before. I'm worried about it getting infected.

That isn't unusual. It won't be bloody because it is so near the bone (jaw), and it is bald for the same reason. Looks like it got gnawed some in a fight.

The wound looks fairly clean and the cat probably won't need a vet if you take care of it properly. Don't let the cat out until it has healed over. Clean it with hydrogen peroxide (at least).


BTW I've had plenty of cats and IMO a lot of these people are overreacting. That is just a surface wound, and keeping it clean and from being rubbed should allow it to heal without incident.
