He is so laidback and sweet and adorable- and now we want to add another cat- will this possibly upset him and do you think cats are happier being a solo pet? - how would we approach this one? - he does not swat or hiss- he has a little spayed female he sometimes seems to like to hang out with 2 doors down- and the male 2 doors down the other way, came over once and they kind of quietly growled at eachother a little bit and that cat never came back to our place- so perhaps he prefers a female!- do they like cat company?-
any tips would be great! no sarcastic, or negative judgementers please- thanks!

Well I have a purebred Himalayan, but mine is a girl, my cat (Princess) is also very sweet, and adorable, and also, she never hisses. My sister once brought home a stray kitten that was at the side of the road, and he was a boy, and we named him Honey, Princess used to always meow, looking for attention, but when we got Honey (He is a boy) she started being more quite, she would sometimes hiss at him (Since he was so hyper all the time) and he was always the same as he grew up! They loved each other sometimes, but hated each other, other times... this past July the 13th, Honey got hit by a car and died unfortunately! :'( And ever since he has been gone, Princess started meowing again.... so I don't think it matters if it's a boy, or girl, I think it depends on the cat, so when looking for a cat, try to find one that seems sorta calm, but also seems like a playful cat! If your cat isn't very playful, then I suggest you getting a playful cat, if your cat is a bit to playful (As in it claws you when trying to catch you) then I would suggest a calm cat! Because Princess seemed to calm Honey down, and Honey seemed to make Princess more playful!..... I hope this helps you make your choice! :)
