View Full Version : Is there any pet insurance that covers pre-existing conditions?
My cat was recently diagnosed with cancer and naturally the cost of treatment is SUPER expensive, so I've been trying to check out pet insurance just to see if any of it could be paid for. Every one of them says that pre-existing conditions are excluded.
no insurance will pay for a preexisting condition.
Unfortunately pet health insurance is just as screwed up as human health insurance in this country. It's run as a business, and taking on a client who has cancer is going to mean spending - not making - money so they aren't going to take your cat on, regardless of how desperate you are or badly in need of help he is. It's cruel and heartless, but it's how the system currently works.
Here is a resource you may find useful:

And some state-specific support programs:

I've never found one that allowed it, sorry.
There are places that can help you cover expensive treatments though. Go to google.com and type in 'help with vet bills'.
