Where can I go to adopt a cat FREE or little money?

Is there a website with listings of cats that I can adopt for free or little money as in under $50? I went to petfinder and most of the pets are like $150 to adopt...
i never said i couldn't afford adoption fee. I just dont want to pay 150 for a "rehoming" fee because thats a bunch of crap. i know they put unwanted cats to sleep, so I know they are desperate to give them away.

Shit, your local humane society! I mean there are more cats than they know what to do with!

You can get free kittens and stuff like that. Hell, I got mine for free because a feral cat gave birth in the backyard at my husbands work. They took the kittens when they were like 5 weeks old while the mother was away. She's been with us for about a month now. She's a real sweetie!
