know of free care 4 them? My cat is 13 years old and always been very healthy. He is not looking well, has lost a lot of weight in a short period of time and I'm very worried about him. I've lost my normal income and I'm on a very limited income and can't afford vet bills anymore. I live in Salem MA, can anyone help?

Its sounds like old age. And cats are like children. They are very in tune when it comes to something being wrong with us. He is picking up on what your feeling. He could be very stressed cuz you are.

Nothing is free.....even the disability money you receive is costing someone, somewhere. But, if you will check with your local Humane Society sometimes they can issue vouchers for discounted vet care to people on limited incomes, or a nearby SPCA might be able to treat your cat for a significantly lesser fee than a normal vet would charge. If that fails, try to find out of your state has a veterinary college and, if so, contact them. They will often treat certain cases for really cheap if you allow the students to participate. Best of luck to you.
