so have a male betta and a female in seperate tanks and the tank of the male has this bubble foam on top could it be the spawning nest... so i put the female in with the male and his gis swell up and looks like he wants to attack her, so how can i breed them please help..... oh do the fish actually choose thier mate? please help

Good that he is bubbling in the water, yes, he is spawning a nest and is ready to mate. Put them into a bigger container together and keep an eye on them. If he attacks her get her out or he'll kill her for sure.
If he mates with her, when he is done, get her out of there or he'll kill her for sure.
If you have a big big tank or better yet- a pond-with grasses and stuff for her to hide from him in it is better. That way she can get away and hide if she needs to.
But the male will take care of the eggs. He needs to be there to help the newly hatched bettas stay up high enough to eat. Mom doesn't help and would be killed so get mom out of there oncer she lays the eggs.

Ok well clean out the bowl with the bubble foam on it and put the male beta in it! ASAP put them in separate bowls. You need to stop those anxiety attacks the male has the fish choses its mate but two males your screwed beacuse they fight to the death! They are mean to femails too! Be catious
