Awesome Freshwater Aquarium?

Ok, I need to know which fish make the best combination for a freshwater aquarium! I need to have the most colorful and interesting combination possible, however the fish cannot eat, pick on, or hurt each other. Maybe a little interaction would be nice too... I'm also wondering what is available to put in a fish aquarium to make it more interesting! Please reply quickly but thoroughly!
