I consider Catfish pests while Carp fishing, is this weird?

Most people would be annoyed by catching an old Carp while Catfishing. I'm the other way around. I'm sort of, "let down" when I catch a Catfish while Carp fishing. Sure, I would rather catch Catfish than say, a BLUEGILL but rather catch Carp any day. I thought this was an interesting question to ask and I'm looking for some good answers.
iTz Moleman! ~ Yes I agree. Those little bullhead or channel cats will nibble at your dough bait all day. It's annoying, very annoying.
Fisher_King ~ No Pike down here so I don't have that problem! I've caught a FEW Crappie while Bass fishing but that's it. Thanks!
Adam S ~ True. My dumb ass self would think I was hung up or something and snap my line. If the fish didn't snap my line the instance I hooked it. I guess it would be OK to catch one that BIG, but these little bullhead and 10" channel cats are annoying.
jtexas ~ Yep, bluegill are about the only fish I eat!
redheat ~ That's a BIG Sauger! I don't have any at the lake I fish, but I here they're some good Sauger fishing on the Ohio River.
spooks ~ I think it's the same species of Carp as you have over there. We have different Catfish though. I like to see answers coming from a different point of view.

I guess it depends on the size of the catfish. How "let down" would you be if you hooked a 40 pound channel?

I feel the same way about Pike and Crappie when I'm fishing for Bass.

I've caught some NICE pike this year (over 36") and it bums me out....lol.

You'll hear me say, "Awww, sh*t! It's a dang Snake!"

Esp during a tournament!

(By the way- Wish me luck. $400 T this Sat in Aitkin MN- Cedar Lake. Already pre-fished- smallish fish in the 14-16" size.)

DUDE! SAME HERE! i used to go carp fishing all the time with my dad. used doughballs with corn for bait and i'd get so pissed when i caught like a little 2 pound channel. Mainly because the carp in that lake are huge, like most i've caught have been 2 feet long and around 10 - 20 pounds.

I'd consider that weird if you were an Australian. Here carp are so much of a pest that it is illegal NOT to kill one if you catch it and there is a huge fine for returning one to the water. Obviously you have different fish
