do cat shelters allow trial runs?

i just want to make sure there is no reaction with my dad to the cat (he got tested and he was less allergic than me and im barely allergic) so i want to adopt a kitten and i want to know if shelters let u hve a kitten for a week and see how it works out or if they let u be in a room at the shelter for a few hours with one of the kittens and see if there is a reaction

well we got a kitten once ..we filled the formes n everything but then he wasnt trained so we had to give him bk :( but ur allowed n if its just a reason like that they'll let you get another one to see if you like it better :)....thats wat we did ..honestly i do love cats if it were up to me i wouldnt hav given up the first one :D

oh btw im not sure thats a shelter :S
