They both should be full size and conditioned with frozen blood worms and krill for about 2 weeks, than get a 10g tank with a divider and keep them in there for about another 2 weeks of conditioning and getting used to each other, the tank should have lots of live and fake plants as well as several plants, but they should be able to see each other, it's alright if they flare at each other a lot.
Than you will see the Male betta starting to make bubble nest, it is now time to remove the divider, they will probably fight, let them stay together for about an hour a day and than one day they will mate, try no to disturb them.
The fry should than be removed into a 5g heated and definitly non-filtered tank, make sure there is a weak air pump in there to keep the water moving.
Feed them freshly hatched brine shrimp, when they grow up the males will start killing everyone, they should be seperated at 2-3 months or less possibly.
Good luck
Just don't! If you are not an experienced breeder, you will end up with dead fish. Also, do you have the space and money for the dozens (if not hundreds) of separate tanks you will need to house the males, not to mention the time to care for them all, for the next 5 years or so? Providing you were lucky enough to manage to get a spawning. That's exactly what you're trying to get yourself into.
