Trying to train my dog to walk around the house?

I KEEP THE DOG ON A CHAIN BUT NOW I WANT HIM TO WALK AROUND AND HE DO FIND BUT WHEN THE KIDS ARE AROUND HE GETS SO HYPER HOW CAN I MAKE THIS WORK?
Well thanks for the advice people! But he's not chain up outside he's in the living room at night with a baby gate and on a training leash when the kids are around.. always supervised :)
he get walked 3 times a day like..... you all just read the post and jumped the gun wow who do that!

STOP TALKING IN ALL CAPS, and give your dog to someone who cares about its wellbeing, no good dog owner would ever leave their dog on a chain.

A dog needs to get regular exercise. If you don't have time to take care of the dog, put an ad on Craigslist or take the dog to a shelter.

well, first, stop chaining him outside. he needs two structured leash walks per day. you need to take him to obedience class and teach him polite manners. dogs (and kids) don't learn these things on their own. they need to be taught. and obviously never leave children and dogs together unsupervised.
