I have a female Cairn Terrier who is in need of a bath, nail trim, ear cleaning and coat trim.

Most of the groomers in my area are closed today, but I did find somewhere that said it would be $40. My labradoodle costs $75 and requires so much more work, the terrier is so small and is not matted and only needs light trimming.

Does that sound reasonable to you? What do you pay for the groomers?

Yes. $40 sounds reasonable for all of that. Its almost double for your bigger dog anyway, so that is pretty good. Don't forget they have to use their water, grooming supplies and expertise to do the job.

I would charge you $45. It takes just as long with a clipper to cut off a little length of hair as it does to cut off a lot of hair. If the dog is to be scissored all over, I would charge $50 and up. You are getting a real discount price on the poodle mix.

It's anywhere between $25-$75. Depends on where you take her and they will quote you on the price.

Depends upon where you live.
The price is very good. Carins require a different type of grooming for their coat than the Lab does. However it still takes time to bathe, clean ears properly and cut nails. Taking care of the coat is pretty simple so it sounds like you should go for it!
