my cat is a white persian, 8 years old (cat years). he had been quite lazy and lying around since yesterday night and in the morning when he got up, he was all wobbly (the lower body - hind legs were weak) and he drank a lot of water. then he wanted to jump up to a pot to urinate but couldnt and fell down so I helped him n he urinated. then we took him to the vet who said he's got some kidney infection :S and gave him an anti-biotic shot. cat's conditioned worsened and now he's totally disorientated...ant walk properly and his head is tilted to one side shaking from side to side when he tries to look up or get up. his eyes are also moving from side to side. he isn't eating and prolly not drinking much. anyone have any idea what could be wrong with him? what should I do? will take him to the vet again today.

I wish I had the answers for you..you must be terribly worried!! Maybe he is having a reaction to the medication? Hopefully your vet will have some answers today for you!!

Well your cat might be allergic to the medicine, or it's just the effects of the medicine, kidney problems in cats usually is the sign of old age even if your cat is just 8 yrs old. My one cat had it and I had to put her down and she was 9yrs old, my moms one male cat was 18 and her tonkenese was almost 21 yrs old. It just depends on the cat. Now one thing you do need to know is in male cats it could start out to be kidney infection but it can easily turn into bladder stones or kidney stones and in males if they get bladder stones or kidney stones they can't pass them because they won't pass through their penis, have your cat get a bladder, kidney xray that will tell you what you need to know. My cat had an urinary tract infection, I gave her antibiotics for 2 wks, it didn't work, so they gave me different antibiotics and that didn't work, so they took a bladder xray and saw the stones, so they had to operate and she is fine now. If he does have stones you must have the surgery right away or your cat will die of a very painful death. Good luck and please let me know what happens.
