I've done everything correctly. I have a 10 gallon tank filled half way with water. My water is the correct temperature and there are plenty of live plants. I've been feeding both the male and female live foods and letting them see each other through separate tanks for the past 9 days. Now they are in the breeding tank together and he noticed her at first and they bot are showing bright colors and verticals stripes. But they are facing the opposite direction of each other. Why arent they noticing one another?

People expect these fish to just immediately spawn. They don't. their courtship can take hours and even days. Do not leave them together and go off for the day! or even a few hours! Or you could come back to a body. Just give them time to get started. Keep traffic around their tank ti a minimum ad they will soon get the idea. Just be patient!
What kind of filter are you using. If the filter is making too much of a current the male won't be able to build a nest. I used a sponge filter in my tank and crimped the air tube so there was not too much movement in the water. If you prop the filter a little off the floor when the babies are ready to eat they will look for food stuck on the sponge.
