we just got a female jack rat terrier two weeks ago..her previous family had another male rat terrier. they said they had only had her for a few weeks and the two dogs just didnt get along. well the last week and a half ive noticed her nipples have grown as though milk ducts were growing. Ill soon be taking her to the vet to make sure she is properly taken care of during the pregnancy and get her fixed when she is ready to have the puppies.. im just wondering.. how likely is it i will have to assist in the birthing of the puppies..ive had to assist in helping cats give birth.. ive grown up with many cats.. and my female cat had one litter.. didnt get her fixed in time and one of her kittens got stuck.. it died under a blanket the next day..she is fixed now tho.. cant bare to see another kitten die.. anyway.. this pregnancy in my dog was unexpected.. the owners didnt say at all wether she had mated.. she is a year old the male was 2yrs old. is helping a dog the same as helping a cat.. except having to tie the cord off and using iodine to put on the umbeilcal cord for antiseptic reasons. im reading as much as i can incase i dont get her to the vet ontime when she has the puppies.. she will be gettin fixed after this litter. please no rude comments please.. she was already pregnant when we got her.
lol.. very true.. im excited but worried. i love puppies and watching them be born.. the beautiful times in life... but im worried about her having trouble with the birthing part. i cant wait till i can get her fixed.
