Hello,

I have two dogs a 6 year old mini dashund and a approx. 1 year old collie/mix (rescue - new to home). I'm in the process of crate training both dogs. I do not crate them while I'm gone all day at work because I think it's do long to be in the crate. I confine them to the kitchen and leave their crate doors . I give them lots of treats in the crate and feed them there with doors . I do crate them in the bedroom at night with me and they don't seem to mind. My question is, I'm worried they don't have enough room to exercise in the kitchen while i'm at work and if should I install a dog door to my fenced backyard? Because this is very possible doable since my backdoor is in the kitchen. I do let them outside for about 1 hour when I wake up to use the bathroom or do whatever and I play fetch with them when I get home and make sure they get outside for a hour or two for exercise. Is this routine okay or should I consider putting in the doggy door so they can go outside or is my current okay for the dogs. I really don't have the money for doggy day care and don't know or trust anyone for dog walking while I'm at work.

Thoughts appreciated.
