My dog is having weird symptoms...?

I have a dog that is a german shepard mix. She is spayed/12 years old and recently we have found piles of a mucus like substance in puddles all over the house. It does not look like it contains bile. Her diet has not changed. Today she pooped all over the house also which she has never done and it did not look strange. I am just worried that maybe she is sick. I was curious if anyone else has had a similar problem. The only thing unusual I have seen her do lately is kill birds but she does not eat them.

Whenever my dog vomits or has diarrhea I give him a bowl of cooked oatmeal.
My vet was the one who suggested it, and it does wonders.
You might also make sure she's not getting into something, perhaps eating plants.
