We live in a busy city part of Florida. During our walk last night, I noticed 5 cute little cat faces poking out from underneath an old 6x6 electrical box. The mom hid, and 3 of the babies followed. The remaining 2 got a little closer, then hissed in fear when we tried to touch them. The cats had their eyes , fur, and were very unsteady when they walked. Not sure how old that makes them.
We found them about 1 block off a very busy road. What is the most humane way to help these poor cats? I don't want to drive by one day and see them flattened on the road. I also don't want Animal Control to come by and violently rip them away from their Mom. However, I would almost prefer to see them euthanized than live the life of another beat-up wild cat in South Florida. Any suggestions?
