My dog ingested a few pills of Tylenol extra strength 500mg. I called the emergency vet and they told me to induce vomiting. I did and he vomited 3 times and I saw evidence of some pills in it. I called the emergency vet back to ask if I should look for any symptoms and they told me to call animal poison control. Unfortunately I don't have the $60 consultation fee for the call.
Right now he's sleeping. Gums are nice and pink, breathing is fine, no additional vomiting or any diarrhea.
He is a pitbull mix, 11 months, 72 lbs. Is there anything I should keep an eye on? The emergency vet didn't seem overly concerned after I said that he had vomited.
I tried to make him vomit more after the initial 3, but there was nothing left in him. He threw up A LOT.
I called the emergency vet. She said that if he didn't vomit then I should bring him in, if he did then she saw no use because they would just induce vomiting there as well.
Do you think a follow up with my regular vet tomorrow is sufficient?
