I recently visited a shelter in my area and fell in love with a cat there that I am considering adopting! I have lived with cats all my life until about a year ago when our 19 year old girl passed so being without one is so lonely but I have never adopted a cat from a shelter before so I was wondering what happens after you sign the papers? The problem is our little girl we had previously would pee in the heat registers and we finally got most of the smell out but we still get an essence every once in a while and I was wondering if this boy cat would pee in all the same places! If that happens would we be able to return him to the Humane Society with no problem? Or what would happen if he didn't like being with us and went crazy in our house and ripped everything up? Do you think this would be a problem with a 7 year old cat? Do they usually do follow ups on cats? So many questions! Thank you very much and take care! :)
I am a 31 year old college educated intelligent person and I obviously know that adopting a cat is not like getting a pair of shoes and I've thought a long while about this...besides if I didn't like a pair of shoes I would probably save them until I found a fabulous outfit they would work well with! I absolutely love animals and that has been my passion my entire life (hence the reason I want to save a cat from the shelter) and I keep a beautiful home and happen to love interior decorating and some animals simply do not have good potty behaviors..not their fault or ours! He he eh I guess sh*# happens! Geez enough with the blame game in this world! I love this guy and I am going to adopt him and I just can't wait! Sometimes cats just have a little catitude but I'll take that over a person's attitude any day of the week!
