I have a small collection of poisonous/non-poisonous and venomous/non-venomous reptiles and amphibians, over the years reading the books on the species I attained the knowledge to breed them. I began doing so to assure I would have later generations should the elders perish of age. The species I have acquired were mostly bought second hand and from private (unlicensed sellers). I would like to be able to legally sell/breed them, however having no experience in dealing with legal issues pertaining to exotic animals I'm not sure how to go about doing this. I live in illinois if laws are per state, and would like to know how to get a license, and if the animals I have, since having been bought with questionable legality, will need to be replaced with legally purchased breeders.
