My cats have been on a diet of mostly boiled chicken for more than 3 months now. They were having a diarrhea problem, which thankfully seems to be clearing up. I am slowly switching them back to regular cat food, and only recently did I start giving them a daily vitamin.The reason for the diarrhea appears to have been a tapeworm, and possibly a bacterial infection. They were treated for both. While they are finally doing better, I noticed that the fur is thinning on one the cats ears and near his eyes. Both cats have spots with missing fur on their legs. I am hoping that this is because of a lack of nutrients from the bland diet, and not something more serious! They were treated for rignworm, as far as I know.
They are strictly indoor cats. The problems started when I bought a new kitty at the shelter in December.
I say hopefully it's because of a nutrient deficiancy because that can be resolved now that they are eating regular cat food.
