In march my husband and I got a chihuahua blue heeler mix from my cousin who had adopted him from the safe harbor prison dog program he was supposed to be potty trained.My husband and I took him out whenever he left our sight and he did good for about two weeks. After that its been horrible since. No mattter how long we take him out he will not go to the bathroom... Its like he thinks its wrong to go outside.. I think we have gotten him to use the bathroom outside maybe three or four times in the last few months, but the only time he does that is when he walks around every bush and tree in the neighborhood and finds the perfect one. When i had him at my grandparents with me and he could roam around and not be on a leash he was fine, but it seems like on a leash he wont go... I got my husband a lab puppy beginning of June and he is already better at using the bathroom then my other dog, and its making my husband want to get rid of him and I dont want that... Someone please help, I've tried crating, punishing, sticking his nose in it, praising him when he goes outside,taking him out every hour of the day, i'm out of ideas and I dont want to get rid of my dog.
