OMG I just found a Tick on my dog after applying advantix?

Please tell me? Is advantix gonna get rid of all the ticks? or do I have to apply something else?
It nearly traumatized me, I have never seen a real tick, and OMG I hope that my house is not infected with them. Please tell me how to get rid if them. Advantix was Super Expensive and they told me it would kill them all if he had them.

I applied the advantix like 15 days ago and this was the ONLY and First tick that I have seen in him EVER

Honestly, I hope that we dont die... How serious are ticks?
Thank you! it was not super expensive, I cant remember but I think it was like 120 for a year or so. I was just honestly frantic as I never NEVER seen a tick on my dog before. But thank you ALL!!! I feel better

fill a small jar with alcohol pull the out...use your thumb nail ...between
tick and skin of dog...one quick motion...put tick in jar to kill it....wash hands GOOD. take cotton ball soaked with alcohol and apply to spot on dog for 5 mins.

Alright - a while back i rescued a dog and he had 3 ticks --

use oil ( like olive oil or some kind cooking oil - if the tick is still alive and not dead already then within 72 hours he will pull out of the pups skin... but that does not mean you have an infestation - it could have been from outside - --

i knpw oil worked for me - he will pull out and once you notcie he is out further grab an old medican bottle and pull him out with tweezers and put him in the bottle.

but make sure he is out far enough cuz if not -- it can hurt your dog bad
