(I've tried EVERYTHING!) How can I get my dog to lose weight?

My dog isn't really, really fat... he's just almost at the obese point! Help! Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can get my dog to lose weight fast before it puts his life in danger?
1) I've tried walking him every day
2) I've tried putting him on diets.
3) What else can I do?

Cut back his food more, exercise him more, and get him a vet check.
