Will my Male Cat stop trying to mate with my female cat once he is fixed?

We just adopted 2 cats, one male and one female, we are planing on getting them both fixed soon but will they stop trying to mate afterward, Thanks

They should. They'll have no desire to mate anymore, and he won't spray or whine either.
