Do big cats groom themselves ?

I always watch 'Big CatDiary' and other similar docs., but I have never seen a lion, tiger, or leopard stick its leg in the air and start licking its crotch like a domestic cat. Or seen any grooming occur in any of the smaller wild species of cat either.
Is this only a habit of domestic cats ?
Yeah, I just love cats --moggies wild cats
and big cats.
Physically they are nature's supreme creation !

All cat species groom themselves, just like domestic cats. They have papillae on the tongue, which not only aid them in grooming but help them to rasp flesh from bones - these are what make a cat's tongue feel rough when it licks you.

They do, perhaps not as much as their smaller domestic relatives, but they do. Just about any animal in the animal kingdom grooms or cleans on some level. Also sometime what may appear to be grooming is something else. For example to keep cool kangaroos will lick their arms. Might look like grooming but there is more to it.

Anyway....

Reptiles will rub their body on things to remove dead skin. Primates will groom not only themselves but others. Birds are constantly keeping feather clean. Deer will rub on trees to remove velvet or even their entire antlers. Even insects take great care to clean antenna.

Yes they do. They act very similar to a house cats in that area. I love big cats. As you can probably tell by my name. xoxoxo

yeah I think so. They are cute they are just like big versions of house cats. They roll around and play and stuff. I love cats and big cats!
