Default What reptiles are tame and relatively low-maintenance?

Growing up, I had a Green Iguana. I loved that darn thing, but my dad took care of it, mostly. I am currently looking to get a lizard, but I must admit I don't know much about them. I just bought a Chinese Water Dragon, but he was pretty wild...when I would pick him up he would struggle and try to escape, every time I ed the cage to feed him, he tried to escape, so I took him back to the pet store. I picked him up a lot and really tried to get him used to being held, but he just wouldn't do it. What is a lizard that is relatively low maintenance and can be tamed?

A bearded dragon isn't to bad. They get really tame and sweet.
