My dog got her rabies shot earlier this year and I guess it wasn't on her collar well enough and I lost it somewhere in my yard - that was several months ago, but I was just concerned.
Is this a problem? Does she HAVE to have the tag on her stating she has had her rabies shot? I like in Ontario, Canada - I don't think there are any laws for having a rabies shot here, but will there come a time when I will need that tag to certify she had her shot and I will get in trouble if I don't have it?
I am taking my other dog to the vet today so I will ask if they can replace it for me or not, but just curious for the time being.
if you lost the tag but still have the page or card the vet gave you or put on the shot record then you be fine cause if the dog warrant guy comes he will look at the paper and not the tag on the dog neck
I am in Ontario too and yes it is the law. Rabies are required. The tag itself is not proof of a vaccination. What you need to keep handy is the paper the vet gave you with the proof you got and paid for a rabies vaccine.
where ever the dog got the Rabies shot from they should replace it because it should b in the resords that they already had the shot
Not to worry, your dog does NOT have to have that tag.
No one will probably ever ask you, but if they do, show them the dog's shot paperwork.
Hope I helped!
