Default So called bad dog food vs Good. What have you experienced with both?

Okay a thread on a forum led me to ask this. You see I know my dog did awful on the higher quality foods and does better on Maxximum Nutrition.

But here is the link to that thread and my opinion:
http://www.dogforums.com/5-dog-food-forum/35429-i-m-really-starting.html

I have my theories. We have been feeding our dogs Maxximum Nutrition from Wal mart for about 3 months and they are thriving. OUr poodle is very finicky, we have tried Science Diet, Nutro, Natural Balance and he wouldn't touch any of them. For the first 11 months of his life we had to force feed him. Also during that time the dogs were on kibbles n bit, and beneful.

But with Maxximum he eats and its wonderful to see him excited to eat and actually finish a meal on his own, before on the other stuff he lost a lot of his apricot color but since being on Maxx he is getting it back.

I was on a site and asked about good foods and everyone said Nutro well I put my dog on Nutro and the next day everyone was saying how bad it was. It seems that way with all the foods good quality or so called bad quality. So I have my concerns.

I want to put them on Diamond Naturals but part of me is afraid to because I'm afraid my poodle will quit eating again and he finally is looking good and healthy. My mix will eat anything.

I do believe that every dog is different in some regards and some dogs need different things.

By the way nutro and natural balance made him sick. He was on both of those for over a month and he always had runny poos and they got runnier every day, and he never wanted to touch the food

I'd say these two look pretty good. Nice coat, no bad breath, excellent weight. All in all I like the Maxximum. (oh excuse the dirty face on the poodle he was just out in the dirt and was needing a bath)

What is your experience with the dog foods. I know that Natural balance and Nutro both made him sick. So then we went out and got beneful which he wouldn't eat either. We finally got Maxximum Nutrition and the dogs are thriving. I know many think its a bad food but he eats and that is the most important thing to me right now.

Do your dogs do better on stuff like Innova and Canidae or do they do better on stuff like Pedigree or Purina? Or do they do better on something in between like Maxximum or diamond naturals (which is a bit better than Maxxium)

Let me know

I know with my dog the Maxximum is the first thing he has ever eaten on his own and their poops don't smell awful any more.

My poodle wouldn't touch Nutro, Natural Balance, kibbles n bits, beneful, or Science diet
Chancelly that is the old recepie. I wish I had the bag in front of me. When i get a new bag I will be happy to post the actual ingredients for the lamb and rice formula
There is no corn in Maxximum lamb and rice
I'm not trying to sway anybody Im just telling my experience. I'll feed my dogs what they will eat and what I feel works best for them, as you will feed your dogs what you feel works and whats best for them. Don't try to sway me and I won't try to sway you
