We just bred our male who is completely brown with a touch of black in his muzzle to a female who is brown with a patch of while on her stomach.
We are going to get our pick of a male of the litter and looking for some ideas for names. Our male's name is Joc (we got that name from Yung Joc) and the mother's name is Alexis. We are not interested in any names like "Killer" or any "mean or vicious" sounding names because as Pit Bull owners we know that Pits are not mean or vicious and already have a bad enough rep and we don't want a name that is going to make him sound like people should be afraid. As you can guess by the parents coloring he will be brown and if one is born we will be taking one that is all brown like our male. I've been on various website that have lists of dog names but my boyfriend doesn't like any of them. So any original but not totally out there names would be good. Some examples of names I like are: Kane, Cal, Otto, Lincoln, Odin, Jax, Chaz, Champ and Tyce Why would i need a license? As my question states I am looking for opinions on names...I could really care less what people think about the breeding of my Pit Bull. Thank you ![]() I'm tired of people asking questions on here and people either responding with comments that have nothing to do with the question or respond with something the asker didn't ask. The ONLY reason we bred our dog was so that we could get another Pit Bull and it would be his son. Our dog is part of the family...he is never outside unsupervised and is in our home with no way to get loose at all times unless out in our fenced yard with us. We love his personality and stature so much that when deciding to bring another dog into our home we came to the conclusion to breed him for one of his sons. The female's owners are not stupid and make sure they go to people who 1-give notable references 2-have country homes for them to run around in 3-if the potential owner cannot keep the pup for any reason it's given back so that they can rehome it. I actually have never even seen a Pit Bull in any of the shelters around so we do not have that problem like the US & other places. To Sarah: Sorry...I just realized that you own Pit bulls. I thought you were one of those idiots who were telling me that I shouldn't have bred him because of the fact that he is a Pit Bull because I have encountered people that believe Pit Bull's should be banned from being bred so that the breed can die out. I do understand your point about the shelters and whatnot, and believe me if I came across a Pit Bull in a shelter around here I would provide it with a loving home, but I have never seen one around and there are very few dogs in the shelters here actually (it's mostly cats). The whole getting him neutered situation is kind of divided. I don't see the point in keeping him intact now that we have bred him for a pup, but my fiance has been told from all of his friends that after their dogs were "fixed" it changed their personalities and they wished they had never done it. So now he doesn't want to neuter Joc because of a fear of a personality change. First of all...where I live there isnt' a Pit Bull problem where the local shelters are over run with Pits. I have searched the shelters in Nova Scotia (where I'm from) and have yet to see a Pit Bull. We do not put down Pit Bulls just because of their breed sorry for those of you that have to deal with that but we do not. Secondly, Pit Bulls are not the ones being "overbred" around here, it's the "designer breeds" like Puggles, and Cockapoos, and Goldendoodles that are ridiculously bred and overpriced in my opinion. And also any of the "registered" Pits around here are the ones that look like hippos and are simply ugly to me (sorry to anyone who likes them but I personally don't). I have a regular Pit Bull that doesn't have a 23" head and is 80+ pounds. There are some people around here that don't want that look and could really care less whether it is registered because they want a loyal dog that will be a part of their family...hence the popularity of "hybrid" or "designer" breeds |

My black pit bull's name is Remington. After the brand of guns. We call him Remi for short. And his nicknames are Rem-wad, Rem-row, and the list goes on and on. he loves it though!

well although i dont agree that you should have bred these dogs my male Pit Bull names are Duece, Kane , Kaos, Savage, Titan, Zues, and Buster.
im so used to where i live our shelters are filled with Pit Bulls and it sucks to see them in there and then i look in the paper and see 5+ ads for pitbull puppies and it just shows that people really dont care about the breed.i understand were your coming from that you want it to be related. but you also have to understand (and if your on this site you'll know what im talking about) that i see questions on here everyday that people ask about breeding their pits and have no clue about the breed or breeding...so its just kinda habit to tell people not to breed these dogs anymore until the shelter population of them go down alot (which will never happen).its good that the owners of the female will take back the pups if their new home works out that shows they at least care about the dogs..about the personality change to tell you the truth the personality doesnt change he'll still be the same ol' happy dog but he will change for the better especially if your bringing in another male they wont fight for dominance as much, they wont mark their territory as much, and when a female goes in heat around you it wont affect your dog as much (like trying to get to her). just tell him to do it for the breed your dog wont change for the worse it will be alot better i promise.i had the same problem when deciding to fix my first male. but i am glad that i did it. good luck hope the pups are healthy and all find great homes |
