| I can understand why my cockatiel is scared. I don't think she has ever seen a cat before...I doubt my new cat has seen a cockatiel before either. When the cat approaches the desk where my bird cages are she just looks up at the cockatiel. I have been lifting her up to see the bird and she doesn't seem to want to attack or anything. I also don't plan to let the 2 together without supervision. The cat has a setup in our spare bathroom where I keep her when I am not here. Do you have any advice on how I can get them used to each other? I know they are not natural friends, but they seem ok for now. Have you had a similar experience? Remember I said they are supervised at all times. I am a responsible bird owner. My birds are in very large cages and get a lot of time out of the cage (when the cat is is her room). I think the bird would rather that I hold the cat than have me just let her have at it! |
