I found a stray cat, advice?

First, I do not want to take her to a shelter because I'm afraid she might be put down, and I do not want to call animal control either.

Me and my mother have bonded with the cat, she lets us pet her and trusts us pretty well. I think she is pregnant, her stomach is big and rock hard. Last night, I tried to take her into the house because I was scared she was going to get hit by a car or something would happen to her.

She was very calm until we brought her inside, and she started screaming and hissing very loudly. After an hour, we put her outside and she calmed down again. I'm guessing she's an outside cat, but I was thinking about adopting her and finding homes for her (possible) kittens.

What can I do, please help?
