well they usually have around 100+ or way more, but since the male eats other fish its really hard to put a male in with a female, they make a nest and the babies come out of the nest, you proabably wont have like 100+ because most will proabably die, hope this helped!

EDIT: if you want an easy fish to breed try getting mollies guppies platys or swortails, they have live babies and dont have eggs or anything special, you just need to feed the fry crushed flakes and then theyl be full size in around 6 months, but the first time that mine breed i didnt even know how to take care of baby fish or anything i wasnt even planning on them having babies, they can have babies every 3 months, they have around 12-30 babies, seriously the problem with these fish is getting them to stop breeding!,( get balloon mollies their the easiest in my opinion you can find them in practicly any fish store or pet store,) good luck!

They usually can have between 200 and 250 fry once the eggs have hatched. You need to do some research on Betta breeding if your truly interested in trying it.

This book is a great source of info about Bettas and breeding!:

http://www.amazon.com/Bettas-Robert-J-Ph-D-Goldstein/dp/0764116533

Check it out before you breed please, just so you know what you are in store for.

Hope this helps you!

get a book , the amount of eggs blown into a males nest is not the number that matters it is what survives.breeding egg layers isn't real easy. so don't worry you won't get very many
