Default Why is my dog being so clingy?

For the past 3 weeks she wont leave me alone! every time i go to the toilet she sits at the door when ever i sit on the couch she has to be touching me. She follows me around like a bad smell i dont know why! she is 6 and she has just started to do this, its becoming very annoying. She used to have days where she was either following me or wanted nothing to do with me and followed my fiance around. I think she is pregnant but my fiance doesnt. Is she trying to tell me something? how do i get her to be her self again?
our vet told us to come back in 2 weeks its to soon to tell if she is pregnant she wants to do a ultrasound but there is no point atm because she would only be 2-3 weeks max.
of course i love her she has never acted like this before im just worried or i wouldnt have asked but its annoying when i cant go to the toilet or have a shower with out her being there. I live on a farm... we have had many dogs have pups which were raised on the farm (she is one of them) we dont let her wonder with male dogs but there has been 1 hanging around.
she hasnt bleed in almost a yr and she doesnt roam around we live on a farm she has 10 achers fenced to run play ect she sleeps inside and comes in when ever she wants its not as if we just let her go out of the yard. She cant jump the fence but 3 weeks ago we noticed a dog jump the fence when we were coming home so we asume it was male.

my dog does that just before she comes into season, she is extremely clingy, then wants me to leave her alone once it starts. if things have changed at home she may be uneasy about it as well just give her time, they are moody just like us

I have a Jack Russell Terrier and she is the same way.
She is always in the same room with me, if I go get on the couch she will get right beside me.
I let her follow me and sit next to me and feel close to me.
She is just like a child and just wants affection and attention.
she is fixed, we got her 3 yrs ago from a local shelter.
I was the one who went and got her, I feed, water her and also let her out to potty and also takes her for walks.
Pets need attention and love just as kids do.
Also dogs always are in packs and it is their instinct to be with someone at all times.
Just let you pet follow you and soon enough she will quit, she just wants to make sure you are there for her too.

I don't have advice here...I just have to say that I'm dog-sitting right now and this dog follows me everywhere too...she has went so far as to jump on my lap when I was sitting on the "throne". I'm not used to that, all the dogs I've had in the past wouldn't even look if someone left the room but this dog is right on my heels. I think it's cute though. When she leaves I'm gonna miss her.

Your dog is being clingy due to the pregnancy and also because she loves you and is insecure when you are not around , this is normal the only advice that ican give is if she is pregnant be carefull when you leave her for a long period of time but otherwise try and get her to be indipendant in her ways by leaving the room for a couple of minutes per day or something like that and increase the time.

Poor animal! She just needs your love and attention right now. Don't forget, dogs are pack animals and you are part of the pack. If she is such a bother to you, why get a dog in the first place?

Try the vets.
You'd best hope she's not pregnant, she's old and could have problems with puppies.

EDIT: You shouldn't be waiting until the pregnancy shows! You should have just gotten her an appointment for an emergency spay. She should have been spayed years ago.

You think she is pregnant? You dont KNOW?

Obviously the dog has bad taste to be following someone like you around.

SERIOUSLY WHY DONT YOU SPAY HER?

Why is it so astounding that she doesn't know if the dog is pregnant or not? They're like people with pregnancy, you can't exactly just tell the day it happened. And a lot of people allow the dogs on their farms to breed, it's how they KEEP dogs on the farm, heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new dog when one dies
