my puppy is four months old and we are trying to work on house training. but every time i take him out he just drink the water that has pooled in our yard. since the snow has just melted. he doesn't like getting muddy so he won't go in the mud. then he comes inside and goes on the floor in the kitchen. i feel like i spend all day chasing after him and cleaning up after him. i get nothing done. my other dog was so much easier to train. Our new puppy is an australian shepard and my husband said it's cause it's too cold for him. i'm pretty sure thats not it but what do i do. he will go on paper if i put it inside but i HATE doing that! I need help!
My problem is that my whole neighborhood draines in to my back yard. Every time there is any rain. The people behind me have 3 dogs and a truely gross yard. so all the poo is ending us in the water and making it's way in to my yard. i have been trying to landscape to improve the situation, but to no avail. This is no go for any animal to drink this. He also has a crate and sleeps in it all the time. I stay at home with my baby, if i turn my head he's peeing on the floor. I cant just put him out back and leave him cause he is still so little he can squeez under the gate. He will not go if he is on a leash i tried that too, but my other dog won't either she waits till we get home and goes straight out back.
