this morning i wake up to see my dog walking with only three of his legs. i was terrified! he is not putting any pressure on his front right leg. he does sit down and he is not wining or licking his leg. when i touch his leg he dosent cry or anything so im guessing that he might not feel that much pain. how can i know if it is a sprain or a break?

The one and only way you will know for sure, is simple. Take your dog to the vet, and have his leg examined and x-rayed. The vet is the only one who will be able to tell tell yo, if it's broken or something else. There is no other way to know for sure, except that.

Does it look swollen? The only way to tell if it's broken is with an x-ray. When you check the leg, bend it slowly and carefully in the knee and see if he shows pain. Look at the padding on his feet very good and see if you see a cut or something between the little pads. He could have stepped on something.

Good luck...poor little doggie...

The only way to know is with an X-ray. Take him to the vet. It might not even be a break or sprain...could be bruised bone (my dog had one), cut, something internal, etc.

Well there is such a term as "lameness" in the legs. I've heard dogs can experience this when they have heartworm. Well my dog had limp hindlegs but he wouldn't whine or seem to be bothered by it. But see I don't wanna scare you abt heartworm...just to make sure, and I know this'll sound so common to say, just go see the vet. all the best

His leg might be sprained or brocken. Try to move his paw to the ground and see if it hurt hims. and to seeif he does still have feeling in the leg, get some twisers or somthing sharp and poke him in the leg , BUT don't poke the needle like right into the like ur giving a shoot. Just put some pressure on his leg. And if he doesn't wine a bit. Then he doesn'y have feeling in it. So I would take him to the vet and not let his leg get worse!

An X-ray is the only way to tell for sure. Make an appointment with your vet.
