Not too late at all, as long as your dog is healthy & in good weight. I didn't start any Agility training with my old Border Collie boy until he was 5 yrs old. Before that he had just been my daughter's pet & our ranch dog. He competed until he was 10 1/2yrs old & truly loved every run. I really miss that big red man. My older Border Collie girl is 10 yrs old now & still competing at the top of her game. Agility helps to keep the older dogs in shape & keeps their minds sharp too.

Dogs are always eager to please their owner. Depending on your dog, if its energy level is there for agility training, go for it. It is a great stimulator for dogs and yours would be very happy I am sure. Let us know how it goes, Happy Tails, KerryK. www.whiskerwall.com

Nope, not too late to start. Find a training class that you're comfortable with, and prepare to get addicted! Enter your zipcode at www.googility.com to find agility trainers, clubs, etc near you.

Heck no. Rosie and Rainbow didn't start until they were nearly 6, Rainbow competed until she was 10, Rosie is competing at 8.
Have fun! |
