Hello,
Okay, so my husband recently started this new job, and they held his first pay check, so we've been making our money stretch as much as possible, but we are now broke, and I'm running out of kibble. I need a homemade dog food solution to get my dogs through the next 48 hours until my husband gets paid. This is what I have to work with: Milk bones Pounce cat treats Rice Kidney Beans eggs Cheese 1 can of Hornel Turkey chili several cans of potatoes, mixed veggies, and beef stew 2 bags of frozen mixed veggies. A LOT of pasta and a couple boxes of cereal (it's a little stale) I have 4 dogs. 2 of them are 50+LBS (A treeing walker/black lab mix and an american eskimo./boarder collie mix) 2 of them are around the 25LBS mark. (A black lab mix and a pitt bull puppy estimated to be around 6-9 months old.) I know that really they would survive fine if I didn't feed them for two days, dogs in the wild get by like that. but I can't take those eyes looking at me saying "Mom, I'm hungry!" Any advice would be appreciated, since this is very temporary, I'm more interested in solutions that will fill their tummies than nutritional content, as they will be back on their regular diet on Tuesday. Thanks in advance! EDIT I can't ask friends family stores for food, because 1. I don't have a car at my disposal because my husband works, if I did I'd borrow some money from my mother in law and buy them some dog food. 2. my dogs will throw up any dog food that isn't their usual, that's why I'm asking about People food. oh and I don't own a credit card, that was a good thought though lol Also to the person that suggested I go get free samples, I gave that one a low rating because anyone knows it is safer to feed your dog human food, than to switch their diets suddenly to a different dog food. Thanks for all the help, I think I've decided on rice and stew. (no onion ingredients in the stew, so no worries) |
