Default My dog has Kennel Cough.... but now he has new symptoms?

He got it from the people who live below me, both her dogs have kennel cough, and the last week he has vomited two times in the night, only a little bit, but it was 2 nights in a row. Yesterday when I took him for a walk his stool looked normal until he was almost done, then it was really runny. That was the last of that until today when I took him for a walk he again had a normal stool, then when we continued on our walk about 10 minutes later he went again this time it was nothing but runny diarrhea?! We have him scheduled to see our vet next week but I'm really concerned? I came home today from work and noticed he hadn't eaten his breakfast either? Which is not like him... when I told him to eat it he ate it up no problem but it's still not like him to not eat his breakfast.
Is it possible these other symptoms are linked to Kennel Cough? If not what could it be? He is up to date on all his shots, he is only 14 months old... I feel terrible for him, although he seems to be in good spirits?

Please help!

Bordetella is the virus known as "kennel cough". While some dogs exhibit similar symptoms, they don't always have actual Bordetella.

Your dog could be vomiting from coughing so hard. I'd call your Vet and ask about giving some over the counter Robitussin (safe for dogs but needs to be dosed properly by a Vet according to Weight) until you can get him in there. Also, when you take him to the Vet, he'll more than likely be put on a cough suppressant and antibiotic. Left untreated, kennel cough can turn into pneumonia.

Dogs can also become lethargic and develop a fever but usually are fine besides a hacking cough! Try feeding him some boiled rice and chicken or ground beef. Be sure to boil the meat, not fry. This is tempting to them, encouraging them to eat and it also easy on their stomachs. Kennel cough doesn't cause diarrhea. Have you changed his food recently? Have he been tested for parasites? Stress can also cause diarrhea. Call your Vet back and tell them the new symptoms, they may be able to squeeze him in earlier. Good luck!
