Has anyone had a dog that has/had kidney disease?

My dog does. I give him fluids under the skin once a day to help jump start his kidneys.He has more energy now and seems to be happier then he has in a long time. You know what's going on if you have dealt with this. He threw up. What do I expect next. I am calling the vet first thing in the morning.

as mad and frustrated as I am right now just shoot the dog be done with it there is alot more at the pound

No but i knew someone who what a dog that took heart medication.

Mine had kidneys that shut down, but it was quick and only one of the problems. I don't know how you feel about it, but if you have a holistic vet around, think about a consultation. I'm dealing with a dog with cancer, and the natural stuff is making me feel a lot better than any drugs. And I've known other people with different problems that have seen big improvements. I never would have believed it, but we tried acupuncture and she came home just full of herself. I haven't seen her act that way for years. Just a thought if conventional medicine isn't offering much.

Not the disease but kidney shut down when her food was poisoned with chinese ingredient but they gave her fluids and she's fine now. hope all goes well at the vet tomorrow.
