i have a 6 month old weimaraner and he currently eats 4 cups a day. i feed him a cup four times a day so it's pretty spread out but i've been told so many different things and i've been feeding him this amount since i've had him (3months) i know they need a lil more in their growing stages and he is still growing but i think 4 cups is a lot. he's not fat though...
Jack is 45lbs, full grown for his breed is 75-85lbs and his vet says he's tall for his age but not over weight. he gets lots of excersize, minimum of an accumulated hour or so a day. He's eating 1cup of eukanuba for large and giant breed puppies 4 times a day. 362k cals per cup 26%protein, 14% fat. His vet says he's healthy and his coat and weight are normal, my question was mainly to get a better understanding of how to adjust his food intake as he gets older... again, his vet says he's tall but not even close to his full size
thanks, this makes perfect sense being that he probably weights a lil more than 45lbs, that was what he weighed 2 weeks ago, but hasn't been weighed since.. at 16weeks he was 37lbs. so that would be about 74lbs full grown, sounds right.. thank you so much. i read the bag of eukanuba and it says 4 and 1/4 cups for his weight. but i figured i'll stick to the four cup for now since he does get a few treats through out the day. i appreciate all the help.
