>Why do my cats love the smell of Clorox?
My cat loves Clorox?
I recently spilled some raw chicken on the floor of my kitchen. Luckily the cat didn't seem to care about it, so it was easy to keep him from drinking it or getting in it while I cleaned it up from the linoleum. I cleaned it, then used some Clorox spray on the spot and wiped that up until it was dry.
At that point, my cat came racing into the room and proceeded to roll about on the just-Cloroxed spot like it was covered in catnip. (At which point I double-checked that I got all the Clorox up so it wouldn't get on his fur and hurt him) He kept doing things like flattening himself and dragging himself along to rub his stomach on the spot. It was hilarious, very cute, and very weird.
So my question is: Is my cat just weird (he does a lot of strange stuff, but this takes the cake) or is there something in Clorox that's attractive to cats?
Like I said, I made very sure, especially after he started playing there, that all the Clorox was rinsed up. Don't worry, I wouldn't let him play in that stuff, and I keep all the cleaners locked away where he can't get to them.
