I have a very friendly cat that only wants to be cuddled. Tonight he started acting weird... I was laying on my bed reading and he was kneading his paws into my leg when suddenly he jumped at my face. He usually tries to lick my face, but never suddenly. He didn't try and bite me, but it was very weird. When I tried to pet him he started dodging my hand and acting jumpy. When I moved away from him, he followed me and lay down beside me, but would still not let me touch him. I felt uncomfortable, so I got off the bed. He followed me and would periodically make quick movements towards me, as if he was going to attack me or something. The entire time, he was making these little vibrating meowing noises (not his usual playful/loving noises). I had never heard these noises before. I was able to lock him in a room with food, water, and a litter box. He never physically bit or scratched me, but his behavior was very very troubling. This is the type of cat that when he plays, he never extends his claws. He's gentle enough that I can give him a bath and trim his nails easily. I do not understand the sudden change in behavior. If anyone is a vet or has other extensive animal knowledge. I would love your help.
In my experience, it is impossible to piss this cat off. He gets along with my other cats beautifully. His appointment to get fixed is in 8 days. Does it have to do with hormones?
