Sudden allergy to a new cat?

I adopted a 7 month year old cat over the weekend. I have never had allergy symptoms from past cats I've owned. I have noticed when my new kitty rubs against my face my neck gets a little red and itchy. She is a short haired cat just like the others I have been around all my life. Could it be from the Frontline they put on her at the vet? Or could I have an allergy to her although cats have never bothered me before?
