  Cat Neglect - Please help!?
Last night I posted this

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoVYH3jemvYTgaE9NUtI7ALsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid =20080614190719AA2JG6K

I called the Humane Society this morning to leave a message about the neglected cat, but the recording said they cannot treat "owned animals" according to State Law.

Who do I call now? Do the police respond to neglected animal cases?

Thanks, I need to call ASAP. I am starting to get really worried
I live in Ohio.

I called the apartment management and they are getting back with me once they find out what they can do. They said they usually cannot get into someone's apartment because of this.

I don't mean to over-react because maybe they have someone coming over with a key that feeds the cat or maybe she has automatic feeders.

I don't have cats, but would the cat still be crying if she had food and water, just because she's lonely?

Waiting for management to call me back.

I am just thinking the worst, maybe all is okay, but maybe something really bad is going on, too.

Thanks for your help. I'll post again ASAP
Management got back with me. They are going through her file to find her emergency contact to see if she's out of town or something and if she's made arrangements for the cat.

If they can't get ahold of her, they will go into her apartment tomorrow.

I talked to another neighbor who has cats and they said the cat could have lots of food and water, but maybe is just lonely. Let's hope that's the case.

Thanks everyone
My neighbor is finally home.
Thanks everyone

this is a really tricky situation... this cat definativly needs help. She's obviously hungry and calling for someone (possibly her owner) you say you can't feed her which is a problem. My advise is to possibly wait a little bit longer to see if the owner returns. If not, keep pestering the humane society or possibly catteries etc? keep looking for help!
